Remote Rekey, BlackArrow

The Government has a requirement to modify the fielded Remote ReKey (RRK) to address parts obsolescence, meet the requirements of the National Security Agency’s (NSA) Crypto Modernization 2 (CM2) effort, counter developing threats to the RRK system, and improve releasability to support joint interoperability operations per the RRK Capability Development Document (CDD). The next generation RRK system, known as “BlackArrow”, will deliver a modernized, CM2-compliant upgrade to the legacy RRK system, featuring quantum resistant algorithms, quantum resilience (programmable crypto architectures and Root of Trust), increased deploy ability, and foreign releasability. The program will capitalize on advancements in crypto and network architectures, especially modularity and re-programmability, to meet requirements with improved form, fit, and function and to ensure long term supportability for all users.
