Cybersecurity Vulnerability and Assessment Test Environment (CVATE)

The Government is seeking a prototype solution to further advance cybersecurity vulnerability testing for U.S. Army weapon systems. The Cybersecurity Vulnerability and Assessment Test Environment (CVATE) is envisioned as a proof-of-concept to demonstrate the Government’s cybersecurity vulnerability test concept. The CVATE environment shall enable sophisticated cyber analysis of U.S. Army weapon systems at varying levels of fidelity, security and system composition. The objective is to provide a Testing and Evaluation (T&E) capability to efficiently and effectively assess the performance of weapon systems when subjected to active cybersecurity threats within an operationally realistic environment. The CVATE shall enable system of systems, as well as individual system and/or component engagement by adversarial actors across multiple threat vectors. The envisioned capability would serve the Program Managers within the U.S. Army acquisition community to support their need for weapon system performance testing against operationally realistic adverse cybersecurity threats.
