description

The prototype(s) being developed is a new Improved Threat Detection System (ITDS) comprised of threat detection sensors and an ASE Core Processor (ACP) incorporating a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), including Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) and Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA). ITDS will use a Family of Systems (FoS) and Incremental Approach in support of an Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) system of systems methodology, with both detect and defeat capabilities. This approach enables modernization of the backend processor to support multiple applications; rapid change of sensor technologies, software, and algorithm updates; and is a critical enabler for the modernized suite of Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) for Future Vertical Lift (FVL).
