Human Machine Interface and Operator Display Interfaces

The Human Machine Interface (HMI) display devices currently employed on United States Navy ships are maintenance intensive; generate unwanted noise and heat in the command and control space; and significantly lag behind industry advances in display, computing and architectural development. There is no current design, or fielded capability, for a single, large screen digital collaborative workspace device dedicated for weapon system(s) planning, execution or post-event analysis that can be used simultaneously by multiple operators.  As such, there is no capability for deliberate planning using weapon system(s) information, which would lead to easy implementation of approved plans within the command and control space. The Government is seeking prototype solutions to alleviate the problem statement with an innovative solution or with a combination of solutions.  The solution(s) must accelerate the development, integration, and installation of the current HMI display device design(s) to facilitate a delivery to the government of a working article.
